Its been a while since I posted here because of all the feuds that popped up because of my postings. Weird people are, but ignore, one has to. So to start with this post is dedicated to the two most important girls in my life, one being my sister & the other being my best friend (love you both <3)

To Person #1 (I'm sorry I can't name you for obvious reasons :P )

Our relation has strengthened only lately but I swear to god it's never going back the way it was. I've not only found a super good sister but I've also found a super best friend in you. I've never realized how it felt to have a sister until lately & by god its an amazing feeling :)
All the parties we were at while I was in Denmark, all the booze we had together in the past 2 months, Sankt-Hans (you pulling me up-hill, saying let's go & I am SO wasted :D), that cycling & the party in the park before we left & not to forget your Eristoff vodka <3
It was pretty sad that we couldn't be together on 24th of August but I swear to god that I will try my best to be there with you next year. Always remember one thing lil' sis, you always have your elder brother thinking about you because I care about you & I want no bad stuff to happen to you ever.

To Person # 2 (na na na na naa na :D)

Oh how can I not mention you now that you asked me to post for you up here :) . You are an awesome creature & I am so glad that I found you when I did. Not only our birthday collides but our personalities too :) (well except a few things here & there I can say you're a complete xerox of me :P)
I really don't know what else to say for you! I've said so much about you earlier up here except this : You are one hell of an amazing person & the amount of respect I've had for you has increased tenfolds since after that day. I now know that you really care & I won't leave any stone unturned to make my life a good one & no, people who I used to be friends with can't get to me, emotionally, no more. I promise I will be strong because I know I need you in my life.

exams and the irony of life

I had my maths internal today, infact i had it about 30 minutes ago. It didnt go good at all. Most I can expect is a 5 on 30, that would make my internals about 13-14 out of 25. I'll have to work harder than ever before if i want to crack M2 in the first go.
Sem 1 result ws declared a few days back and i managed to clear every subject with a total %age of 72.
I am at peace with the marks i got in sem 1, but I am very worried about this time. Lots of stuff's happened. I've seen depression, I've seen hate,I've known what two face people are like, I've been dunk till the point I had to puke it out. Sem 2 hasnt been going as I expected it to go. Perhaps I am a very demanding person. That might explain the reason why I stay ill most of the times these days.
I am facing severe dehydration, severe weakness (to the point where it pains to even get up) and I just want to be relieved of this pain I am going through.
I hope I get lucky, and I hope that time comes soon enough. Things can get out of hand if its too late.

More than a month has passed and I wasn't normal, until today. Today I realized that what I was doing was pretty wrong. Being depressed, sad, in-active, sick, that isn't me. I am more than this. I need to be myself like I used to be, back in December, November etc.
The above lines try to convey a VERY DEEP message, though it may seem unclear to the eye. I am a guy of my word. If I make a promise, I keep it and whatever I said above, is a promise to the ones who care for me, Bhatnagar, Neha, Wajahat, BCool and my family. You have my word.

well I am not a very great blogger, not very regular either but I do really feel like writing stuff up here when I am not feeling like myself. Its like writing a diary, but better, I have had a very bad experience writing diaries so I decided to rather skip that possibility.
Well, A month hence and still no communication but I am going to make the first move, Saturday, after the exams, I just hope this one goes like I planned, no screw up, no nothing, just plain 2 minute speech.

Is the question that goes on and on in my head these days. There's this girl in my class, who, I guess, I like or rather have developed a love at first sight kind of a thing. The Female looks pretty conservative or rahter shy. Doesn't talk much to people but according to Female friend of mine, she has a very good nature and personality. Whenever this Male tries to talk to her, she either ignores him or replies in a very odd fashion but the Female turned normal for a day in between all the days I've known that she existed. We don't talk, no not at all. She doesn't look in my eye, ever AND I haven't done anything wrong till now. I have no clue why I like her, but I seriously want to refrain from doing that.

My life has been a roller coaster ride, in my early days, 6th Standard I shifted to Delhi Public School Mathura Road from Mount St. Maries school.
At the outset I became friends with the person who now rolls with people who deal in drugs, sex, alchol and what not. He, I must say is now a complete gangster.
I fell in love with the girl of my dreams that day, maybe it was infatuation at that point of time, but there has been a phase in my life when all I thought about was her.
She used to like me then, I came to know that in 7th standard and I tried real hard to say it to her but I couldn't.
Well another year passed and in 8th standard I asked her out just because someone dared me infront of the whole class, I was a dumb person for accepting that dare. She refused, she didn't like the way, obviously.
She also didn't like the people I was with. I never knew this thing till a few days back, when I was talking to my best friend over msn, I realized what went wrong and why she never came back to me.
Life can be unfair at times, but that doesn't mean that one stops living life. Life goes on like a SIN wave, it goes to +1 at times and also touches -1 but then again goes to +1. I have been really depressed since like, 3 years now.
I have been living a fake life, wearing a fake smile, roaming about with fake people (that excludes you Phatnagar).
But I've finally realized that life cannot always be the way we want it to be. My soul-friend (thats what I will now call you as we have so much in common) has had a very hard life, but she did see good days and I hope she always does and I have to take this kind of inspiration from her, to stay happy, no matter what happens.
To fix my goals and achieve them and I have to control myself if I fail to achieve them. Life is unfair, after all.
We decided not to talk on a regular basis but decided to write each other emails on a particular date and if something special, something good happens and I just hope, I get regular emails from her and I keep conveying her what happens here regularly.
I never wanted any of this I swear, but then again, life is unfair and time is the best healer. We used to be kids when we started talking and I hope we stay best friends till we grow so old that we can't get up and walk no more.
She really has been a bright spot in this mess I made for myself, always guiding me through. People tend to make mistakes, I have made a lot of mistakes in my life and I apologize for the wrong stuff that happened last year.
I just hope that you live a life that everyone dreams of living. A huge mansion, lots of limos, a fountain of sparkling water in front of the mansion door and what not. I'd like to credit her with the title 'The girl who saved my ass from going to hell'

Well, well hello again folks! We recently heard about the US elections and some of us who do read the newspapers and watch the news know that Barrack Obama is the new President of the US. In such a short span he has taken a decision to revert about 200 decisions/changes made by Bush in his time of presidency.
Talking about Bush, he wasn't a that bad man at all, well that is what I think. Well, apart from waging war on Iraq, and 1001 reasons apart, I don't think he was a bad man at all.
Sorry sir if you're reading this, but I don't want any FBI people on me, because I have no personal grudges against you!
Okay there is one thing I would like to discuss about our 'SIR' Bush here. Well not exactly discuss, but to show you people. Here take a look :

Okay so I've accepted this college as my college now and have met some really cool seniors, so one day I was just sitting in my rooms when a senior showed up and asked me to open this site and LOL I was amazed on seeing the posts and when I subscribed to the service (took 3 bucks registration, all one has to do is send a message saying JOIN MERACAMPUS to 567678) I started recieving updates about MY college! Awesomely cool things like : Serial Blasts (low intensity infact very low) in senior boys hostel, more detonations planned in the future etc. I was like LOL amazing thing and a must for every person in BBSBEC (ie my college) to join this!

P.S. :- I do not know who made this site so please don't come to my room or call me up to ask me of its owners.

College Day One

College day one, sigh, well not a bright day with me sitting in the internet lab posting on on my blog, I don't have a computer/laptop in here and i don't think I should bring one in here, shit, crowd issues. Nearly 70% of the people with me are 'Pindi' I hope you people understand what that word means don't you? Anyways, first period, Maths (oh before I go any further, here the girls and the teachers look all, ALL the same) a young (read : unattractive) lady walks in and everybody gets up, I follow suite. Next she tells us about the marks distribution and stuff. After about 20 minutes we are asked to leave for the Audi (in between the lecture) There we (freshers) were welcomed with a boring half an hour speech, and then various people spoke to which I just nodded. Next we went to copy the time table (bloody they can't even give us the print outs) and there we find out that we don't have our 11.15 class . OK. 12.10, recess, 13.05 physics period, the teacher is nice, except for the fact that he didn't teach today. Next lecture was supposed to be of BEEE (something related to electronics), that didn't happen, next was GM (group meeting), again that didn't happen, and then was activity, well there are NO FUCKING activities here as of yet, and we have 100 marks of activity. I hope that the gaming tourney takes place soon in here :\ Anyways time to recreate.

Lately I've realized that no matter how much you game, play, listen to music i.e. do other stuff, in the end, its the people around you, people that you talk to, who make a difference. People who have really influenced my life are:

I would talk about everyone in each post and here, I talk about number 2.
Well I came across this girl totally randomly and found that we had deeper connections when I got to know her better. About 2 years back (maybe a little less) that time was a time when I had no sense what so ever about how to talk to people properly and stuff, but now, she is one of the people, to whom if I don't talk, my day doesn't pass. She is like a person who morally lifts me up whenever we talk (do not be confused, I don't take her in that sense)
Well she asked me to put up this post describing her so that she could read what all I think about her so here goes:
Well she is the most amazing person i've met through this wire, call her a freak, call her evil but yeah she's someone I could kill to be with (lol :p not literally). She is HOT ;) and despite living away from her motherland she is still indian. (love that part of yours <3) Till like 2 months ago my chat records with her were almost empty, we used to talk only a bit through offlines, but now, though she comes online at very odd hours for me (well 7.30am and 3am are odd hours aren't they?) my chat history has excedeed the limit thrice! YES! THRICE! And each record is 4mb, so you can imagine the rest [:p] I insist again, she is not my girl friend, she is one of my besties now [:D] no offense Rahul [:p] but she might overtake ur position one day, though she says that Rahul's on number 2, hah! She's coming down here this year and I can't wait to meet her....because she's getting me chocolates!!! By the way, what did you people think? [:o] Lol, anyways, she's got this very very strange crowd around her that always think about themselves and that is something I hate, because that is something that hurts her. She has a cold nowadays, hope you get rid of it soon. Her brother is a nuisance, I won't describe it, but I hate the stuff he's doing nowadays, i'll see you soon in a boarding dude! Anyways, she is a very very very talkative person, and sends one line per pm, sometimes one word per pm [:p] She says dude A LOT, hah!! and nowadays, she's got this worm of saying 'sad' (an after effect of talking to me)
When I tell her that I was in-game (cs) just before she came up, she's like: "OMG! U GOTTA LEAVE CS!!" AND yeah! forgot to mention, she says OMG a lot as well!
She has a tendency to stretch words at times, like she might type in lol as llol or dude as dudeee etc. LOL [:p] She never sends the smiling smiley :) but instead she uses the =) smiley, so much so that I've started using it, and I'm loving it! =)
She has had her own shares of sufferings and she's undergoing many things at the moment, everyday something weird happens to her [:s] and its something that I don't like at all.

Well all in all she can be termed as a silver lining of my dark clouds because she is the one I always look forward to talk to. I spend almost 23-24 hours on my PC waiting, and even if I get to talk to her for like 5 minutes, I'm more than happy, well this does not signify that I love her and want to be her Boyfriend or something, I like her as a person and she can be termed as my best friend [:D]

Our lives change, everyone's do. So has mine. I passed out of School some 2 months back now and look back in time and remember the stuff we all used to do, from bunking classes to attending classes to mock the teachers, that basketball court where we spent our periods bunking, that rear entry into the ground, those corridors where we used to shout in between periods, those back benches, that hulla-bulla we used to create, those precious days.
Lately I gave my IIT-JEE and VITEEE and I plan to give 5 more exams only to be told where my career's headed, the time's sad nowadays, its boring sitting all day long in here, doing nothing except downloading stuff, at one point you realize, isn't this the limit?
I've been trying to get in touch with some of my friends as well but only to find out that either their numbers have changed or something similar.
Well i'm headed off to Bangalore this June after I give my BITS entrance exam on the 3rd of June, I hope I am able to recreate a bit of what I used to do in my school-life.
Apart from that, someone's coming from Canada, June end's the time, can't wait to meet her.
Oh! by the way, i'm about to get an Xbox 360 soon now and soon after, a 32-inch LCD television.
That would mean I can push my interest in gaming more professionally.
Anyways I must rush now,

I look back in time to my 11th standard and I remember the chapter liquids in Physics part 2 NCERT. Speaking of which I also remember the novel-like-chapter in our module (5?) of physics that had around 63 examples. It went by the name Properties of Matter which focused more on liquids, muniscusses, angle of contact, surface tension, free surfaces etc. etc.
Today I was looking at the bottle containing the solvent used to clean the mobile screen and saw the physical significance of those chapters. Here have a look:Our VMC bhai log used to tell us that we could see the muniscus in the chem lab in the pippet where we had KMnO4, but it was something i did not ever see.
Oh well sooner or later i was destined to find out what it physically looked like.
In other words,

I dont care,
how is it going to make a difference whether the water you are drinking has a concave muniscus making a contact angle of 1 degrees with the wall of the glass?
Well such things go noticed either by some great scientist, a mad-man, or Akshaya Bansal (please dont screw me for this! :P)

Halo 3 MA5C Rifle

Yeah, we all know now that the Halo assault rifle is REAL, thanks to the guys at East Coast, our dreams are going to come true. Yes! They are working on a real life model of the Halo MA5C assault rifle. It comes with a LCD display (that shows how many pellets(?) are present in the clip) I did mail them asking about it, whether it will be a 'working' model and i expect a reply soon enough now. Lets hope that this thing is soon released now because i know, like me you people are not being able to hold your excitement any more!

10,000 BC a movie review (brief)

Saw 10,000 BC today and I must appreciate the amount of effort the team must have put in while making the movie. 10,000 BC is a type of a movie that comes around so seldom that when one watches it remains baffled by its scale and the emotions these movies portray. Coming back to 10,000 BC, (although i wont reveal much, go watch the movie!) this movie shows the fear that can be produced when u lose something very dear to u and shows how we must be together like brothers & friends.
Coming to the movie basics, the story line is NOT crappy, the CG saber-tooth does look a bit different, the mammoths are rendered in an excellent way and the sound (voice acting and the environmental sounds) are simple ground shaking.
I wont write much and will just sign off saying that 10,000 BC is a must watch movie for those who liked 300 as it comes from the makers of 'The Day After Tomorrow' and for others who haven't seen 300, well, this movie is a fine place to fall into the madness!
All in all an amazing movie, a fine 9.5/10 for this one! (-0.5 as the Saber-tooth did not look that great, and second the movie could have gone well over its 2 hour run time)

I've been going through a lot lately, incomplete syllabus to sleepless nights, friends breaking away and so much more. There was a person and it was that person who gave me happiness and the courage to stand and fight against the things that burdened me, but now with that person gone as well, i have started thinking probably its somewhere in me, somewhere i am at fault. There is something that is not right and i have a really bad feeling about it.
There are things i can't share in public, but i must refer to that person that I'd be missing you and i did not share this with anyone but just with my diary, and there's no reason for you to feel uncomfortable, you have to move on. Me? Well i will, definitely will, as i have always.
No more of this anymore.

Nano? The Future of the country?

Yes we are talking about the Nano (not the iPod but the TATA Nano). A new trend had taken the country by storm earlier but this time a new mind set (read : Mind fuck!) has been created in the workers of the BPO's as the new "cool" word around is Nano. I read in the newspaper on Sunday that in BPO's the smaller workers have been given the title "Nano" and the dumb idiots (the juniors) actually like it saying that Nano seems to be the phrase of 2008. Itee Dewan (the writer) says "Celebs thronged the auto expo this year to test drive the Nano. It was and is the most talked about invention. Why would anybody feel inferior or offended being addressed as a Nano worker"
As if the Celebs have gone bankrupt and are left with some petty amount of money and are selling their Maybachs and BMWs and getting themselves a Nano. Moreover Mr./Mrs. Itee says that why should be offended if someone calls them Nano worker, its like calling someone saying "Hello, how you doing, did u know you are a bastard?".
People actually find calling their inferiors "Nano" cool whereas Nano means a very VERY small quantity (ask us....we are sciencies :D) If the world wants a cool word then why use somebody's trademark? There are many scientific words denoting quantites. Take for example Fermi which is still smaller than the Nano. Gah! anyways must be off now. In the meanwhile you see the headlines in the paper extract below:

Memories of life gone by....

I still remember the time in my 8th standard when we had a trip to Appu-Ghar, the amusement park just a kilometer from our school. Me and Abhinav Verma were hanging out together when Sharad Chawla (kaluva :p) came and asked me if i could hold his bag (we did not have any eatables with us and that ass's bag was full of it xD) to which i agreed and after that Me and Abhinav vanished from sight (he must have been looking for us frantically). I still remember the rides i went on with Abhinav, the round kind of ride at one end of the park, the Columbus (and someone who sat on it after eating a pizza and vomited), the My-Fair-Lady, the Chain-Chair type of ride and the chills I had on that one. I even remember the Splash ride in which we went to the very top of the ride and the car we were in came down with so much speed and splashed into the water, the fun we had with Ishan (that fat ass :p) in the House of horrors as he shouted "Huhahaha Mein to dar gaya, mein to dar gaya" and danced in his seat it was a moment so funny i possibly cannot forget. Then came the end of the trip and we met Sharad again and we apologized for eating his stuff and i promised to pay him some 50 bucks. Then i remember going to the Pizza outlet to have a pizza, giving that guy the money (100 bucks) and him not giving me the pizza....i wanted to hit that guy. But i did indeed find 200 bucks lying outside the pizza outlet and was overjoyed....what memories and experiences we had in that park & only memories are left as Appu-Ghar has been sadly shut down by the Govt. Of India and they have not been given land outside the city as of yet. Appu-Ghar was the brainchild of Shmt. Indira Gandhi who wanted to have a DisneyLand type of amusement park in Delhi for childern. Here are some photographs of today's newspapers with the amusement park in the headlines:
The park was closed yesterday, the 14th of February, too bad I did not have a valentine, or the time, other wise I would have definitely payed a visit to the 24 year old amusement park that was the premier amusement park in Delhi.

Hindustan Times - A newspaper review

I get The HT and the Tribune in the morning (as my newspapers duh!) and whenever i read the main HT paper my day goes way bad and that's because of the news that piece of crap carries. Murders, deaths, accidents, people dying and pending court cases, cases in which police is caught taking bribe, news about the kidney racket "Kingpin", unnecessarily hyping the Nano (not the iPod, the TATA Nano) and so much more.
For example todays HT had the following headline:
I still did not get the reason why the people at HT are so fnatically attracted towards the Nano?! So much so that if they get to run the nation they may change the currency to the Nano! For example a new house would cost about 23 Nanos, an expensive Rado would cost 2 and a half Nanos!!
Moving on to more news i did see the "Opinions" page which is ment to be a page for people's opinion but NO its going to be HT (bloody they dont get the freedom to express their's in their home!) and it carried the following news:

I feel at first that this is totally the article's opinion (Barkha Dutt a.k.a Third Eye) and definitely not the public's and moreover she called Sania a "Defeatist" (for those who dont know what it means it means someone who accepts defeat without any struggle) which is absolutely wrong as Sania now ranks 29th in the WTA rankings and she HAS done the country great proud (people WILL come to know sooner or later when some one from the US or UK will say that). The "third eye" also quoted that Sania does not want to play for India which again is wrong as Sania earlier mentioned that she doesn't want to play IN India but she'll continue to represent India abroad.

So as we did see above the news in HT are mostly absurd i think i'll be switching to RSS soon enough so that my day isn't ruined. In the meanwhile you people do comment on this article.

Yahoo LaunchCast Radio

So, after a long time i signed back into my yahoo account from the messenger only to find a lot of offlines (mostly forwarded strange messages) and some friend requests, and i was way bored of my current song collection so i thought of taking some widgets' help to overcome my agony. So as i downloaded and installed the Google Desktop i tried to look for some good radio widgets but i found none (i guess i did not try that hard) and i found some stupid yahoo widgets which i didnot want to use, it was then when i thought of switching back to the LaunchCast radio service offered by yahoo and oh my! They have beefed up the number of song genres! I went into 1980's rock and the first song that played was AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long (Album:Back in Black) i also noticed its new skin and its (new) ability to display the album art along the song name which did impress me. Now i am thinking to get back to the LaunchCast (although the quality is not that great but who cares! there's like 0 buffering on my 64Kbps line!!) Until anyone finds a good alternative (remember it should have no buffering!! :D) i'm going to stick to the LaunchCast.

Chinmaya Vidayalaya Day 1

Tuesday 6th of November saw Chinmaya Vidayalaya's symposium (day 1). Our School (Dps Mathura Road) did not come but i being a sympo freak reached there approximately half an hour before time....damn the auto wala drove rashly :s. Any ways I being the only 1 at the symposium thought of taking part in quiz and surprise event as well (apart from gaming). Though i am not a quizzer I sat in the quiz and was LMAO when i saw the first page of questions (25 questions in all, objective type). Questions like what is HTML, Which s/w helps u access internet and stuff. Though the 2nd page was a bit tougher, i made some good guesses and handed over the paper & the quiz result was that i qualified for the next/final round!
As far as gaming was concerned there was Halo to be played on the PC but not on LAN but the campaign. They chose a level on normal difficulty & took the person who reached the farthest in the level. Easily done. So that means I am in for the Quiz & Gaming tomorrow as well as the Surprise Event which will take place if there is enough time left for the organizers. And Oh! Forgot to mention...Dps Rkp didnt make it in the quiz so if u people read this (WarP ppl i need u tomorrow!) we have a solid chance of overalls i.e.. atleast 2 1st and 1 2nd or 3 1st's. I'll try my best at Quiz and Gaming. Wish me Luck friends!! :)

Weird Things

Well weird things keep happening on my computer but the following one was um...quite strange. Here take a look.

Above you can see the overlapping drag box that is created when 1 holds and moves the left click on the desktop. These boxes DONT overlap and form a proper rectangle or a square but as I've quoted above that strange things keep happening on my computer i was able to do such a thing (accidentally might i add). I remember my pc hung for a few seconds while i was making a drag box and then my mouse (disabled now, does double/triple/quadruple left/right clicks on ONE single click) made this overlapping box! But i havent still figured out a PROPER way to achieve this. Strange enough....

Xbox Handheld?!

WTF?! is Microsoft planning to launch a PSP-Killer?! Here check out the Xbox Handheld.Well there is no other official information available at present but if the Xbox Handheld is really coming up then the PSP might face some serious competition and especially if Xbox handheld has the type of graphics as shown in the above picture (the game is GRAW or GRAW2 i guess) then this handheld device would start miles ahead of the PSP. Meanwhile stay tuned for more information in the upcoming posts.

WarP '07 day 2 was followed by a lan party in q3:afterwards n MAN! i realised everyone is such a faggot in quake! even dont know how to shoot! man!! was leading wid atleast 15+ frags!! this seriously shows how much better I am in my skul. Yup i noe i aint that gud outside bt skul... yea me=best n it was high tym i realized it n my skill dat i can kick sum serious butt (ingame! :p)

Halo 3 Review

Halo 3....a simply amazing game .... as everyone claimed it to be.
Halo 3 starts with Master Chief lying the jungle with his squad thinking he's dead but Chief gets up and then there is no stopping him. From the first mission till the ending sequence there is no single event in the game that will bore you or even make you to want to take a break. With approximately 18 hour gameplay @ legendry (i assume without cheats though they arent even available) the game delivers superb graphics even on my CRT (havnt played it on a LCD) double HDR @ 640p is what Halo 3 delivers.

Gameplay :
Gameplay includes teamplay with Convenant Elite who is mostly with you in all the missions.
AI is pretty smart and the game is really tough when played by a n00b (newbie) even on heroic difficulty. Enemies take cover behind any damn thing they find. This gives Halo 3 a chance to introduce the protective shields. The player can pick up different types of "protective" grenades which can deploy Bubble Shields, Flare, Auto Turrents etc. The protective shields protect the player from enemy fire be it grenades RPGs but enemy can enter the shield and melee (humiliate) the player which turns out to be A LOT OF FUN online on Xbox Live! which unfortunately is no there in India. Coming back Chief gets to drive some new vehicles which include:
The Mongoose

The Chopper

And the old Vehicles introduced in Halo 2.
Next comes the Weapons Section. In Halo 3 the previously Dual-Wieldable alien Needler is a Single Hand only weapon. New Weapons include :

The Assault Rifle (Back from Halo with few modifications)

The Brute Shot

The Flamethrower

The Fuel Rod(something similar to RPG)

The Gravity Hammer(aah my favorite melee weapon)

The Machine Gun Turrent (existed in previous games but this time can be ripped off its stand)

The Magnum (back from the original Halo)

The Mauler (similar to Human Shotgun but can be dual-wielded)

The Missile Pod (Portable Missiles!! :D)

The Plasma Turrent (portable plasma turrent)

The Stick Grenade (the name says it all)

The Spiker (Alien Assault Rifle can be dual-wielded)

The Spartan Laser (ooh the best gun in the whole game just aim lock on and BOOM!!)

Coming back to gameplay Halo 3 has loads of events, missions and spaces that will WOW you and the best thing..these things happen very often!
From the floods (not the normal one :p) to the size of the Halo rings to the shine on Chief's armour and The Convenant's voice the scale of the game is surely not less than amazing.
Battles range from Chief on many aliens, Chief +Convenant Elite on even more aliens, Scrab Battles (my favourite part of the game) to ranged battles using the sniper rifle this game has it all.

Graphics & Sound:
Halo 3 runs on 640p 80p less than 720p but the developers claim that Halo 3 has double HDR techniques that run quite smoothly on the Xbox 360 at 640p. Environments are nothing short of beautiful with everything being as much as detailed as Chief himself. Almost everything in the environment can be manipulated and blown away by a grenade. The gun fire is definitely better than most of the games I have played till date and yes that includes Half -Life 2 as well.

Sound system supported is 5.1 Dolby so you can expect exceptional positional audio. Gun shots are crisp to hear, vocals are definitely clear and some really good voice acting has gone in making this game. You can literally feel the gun shots and the vocals as if they were real (provided you have a Dolby certified 5.1 speaker set which as of speaking are obscenely expensive).

Multiplayer :

Halo 3 delivers here too with the best multiplayer available in any game (on Xbox 360) Halo 3 surpasses the expectations with different types of deathmatches like Slayer, Team Slayer, Oddball, Bombrun, King of The Hill and the classic CTF. The game is best enjoyed (after finishing the campaign) on Xbox Live! where more than 32 players can join a game for complete mayhem either on land (on foot or in vehicles) or in the air. Multiplayer has got it all RPGs, Missiles, Turrents, Bombs, Shields so expect loads of fun online.

A 4 player split screen deathmatch on the same Xbox 360 is also available via split-screen but that ruins the experience (if you dont have a REALLY big Television) ang the 4 player co-op campaign mode is also available.

Overall :
Coming to a conclusion Halo 3 is a game everyone MUST play. Hardcore gamers must have finished it till now but those who have not even played it should go to an Xbox 360 store and experience the madness of Halo 3. All in all a great package that makes game of the year material definately.
10/10!!

WarP and Montfort

Today 3rd august was Montfort school's G@teway and i went for gaming in it.
Gaming consisted of 3 rounds the first two being UT 2004 and the last one being
some weird game named "Warsow". In the first round i was second to Dps Rkp
who was with 25 frags and i was on 23 frags. I qualified for the second round
and i was battelling the Dps Rkp gamer again who won the round with some 23 frags
and i was second with 16 frags. Though i could not qualify for the finals i was awarded
the third prize in gaming. Well to start off the year its was a good experience.
Other awards our school won were as follows :
Abhimanyu and Adhish - 1st in Surprise Event
Ramit and Abhishek - 3rd in Quiz
I wish everyone luck for their future symposiums and aim for the overalls!!!

NEWS!!!....Sony recently announced that a newer version of the PSP will start shipping in september and it will completely replace the original PSP which was a 19 percent fatter PSP model. Sony is not definitely Nintendo (which was not affected by what is called the osbourne effect) and till september no one would pick up a new PSP knowing a thinner, faster version of the same device is just around the corner....

It was high time some one at Infinity Ward realised that WW2 games were getting old and monotonous now, so Infinity Ward came up with a new idea of moving into the era of modern warfare, enter Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare.....
In the video below, though not much is revealed, but we can get a vague idea that the game might be set in places like the middle-eastern countries.
Graphically,in the trailer the game looks absolutely superb.

While gamers are having a tough chioce deciding which console to buy, microsoft throws in a new choice to everyone :
The Xbox 360 Elite
Being a limited edition version and promising HDMI,IPTV and a larger HDD drive the Elite promises to take on the PS3 more effeciently than any other console currently present in the market. With a unified shader architecture in the Xbox Elite, Microsoft have gone an extra step making the Elite DX10 capable.
Microsoft being a New-comer in this industry (as it jumped in with the launch of the Xbox) it has a lot to cope-up in order to the 1st position in the gaming industry. The Xbox 360 having 3 3.2GHz cores under its hood offers some serious computing power of 0.9 Treaflops.
With hands joined with ATi this time the GPU of the Elite promises to be one of a kind (yeah we want that!!), games like Forza 2 running at 60+ fps at 720p really showcases what the microsoft's new kid can do. Being based on the unified shader architecture, the Xbox can spit out some really amazing visuals without much stress on the GPU as the pixel shaders and vertex shaders are unified under the unified shader architecture.
The Elite comes with a HD-DVD drive in contrast to the standard DVD drive in the classic Xbox 360, so this means that the Elite can play HD-DVD/DVD movies, MP3 CDs and DVDs and much more....
One point unique to the Xbox is its very popular and ever growing Xbox-Live! community.
With various things on offer on the Live! like downloading content for purchased games, videos, demos, one can even buy games off the Live! and store them on the HDD of the Xbox.
Live!, though a paid community does not stop gamers to jump in it.
The downside points, though, are not much and should not be really disturbing, but the Elite uses the same 90 nm fab as the Classic Xbox 360 does. So what does that mean?? This mean that the Elite has the same noise and heating issues as the Classic X360. Moreover support for more and better audio standards has not been made in, nothing ground shaking but an issue nontheless. This project resulted in a lot of requests to duplicate this mod, showing either a very universal disdain for the PS3 controller's decade-old shape, or some strange obsession with the Xbox 360's chubby, winged form. Unfortunately. Ben didn't have the time to meet all these requests (plus he charges an arm and a leg), so we asked him to show you How-To build your own PS360 controller. It's not terribly difficult, just takes some time, elbow grease and, of course, lots of hot glue. Let's get started!

Parts you'll need

PS3 SIXAXIS controller - We're actually not familiar with the wired version, but we'd assume it'd work the same way, just no battery.
Xbox 360 controller - For this example we're using a wireless one, which is handy because the PS3 battery can go in the 360's battery pack space. If you use the slightly cheaper wired controller you may have to bolt the PS3 battery on the back, but don't fret -- it's not very big and fairly thin. (Just pray it doesn't become a Sony firework.)
Perfboard with pre-drilled copper plated holes - Any type will work, such as Radio Shack Catalog #: 276-148, #: 276-150 or #: 276-147.
Thin wires - As usual I suggest solid strand thin UATA33 hard drive cable. This'll allow us to arrange things nicely inside the case. A few spots will requite slightly thicker (think floppy cable) wires.
x(4) T-1 sized LEDs - These 3mm diameter LEDs will be used for the ring of light. Choose any color you'd like, for this project red was used. For Digi-key, search for "led round 3mm t-1", for Mouser the same but omit the word "round".
x(2) 4.7k ohm resistors and (1) 10k ohm resistor - 1/4 watt is best (smaller), available at Radio Shack or online.
Superglue - We always keep about 10 packs of this laying around. We suggest the liquid type, it's more predictable than the gel.
x(11) 6mm tact switches - For the main buttons. Digi-Key part # EG2495-ND, Mouser part # 688-SKHHAQ
x(2) 4.5mm tact switches - For the L1 and R1 shoulder buttons. Digi-Key part # CKN9018-ND, Mouser part # 688-SKHRAH
x(4) size 3 screws, 1/2-inch long - For securing the case back together. You could use the existing security screws but they're a pain.

Tools you'll need

Dremel tool with cutoff wheel - Almost essential for this job. We don't know how we went 6 years without one, though it might explain our slight insanity.
Soldering iron and desoldering iron - The usual recommendations apply.
X-Acto knife - Really quite indispensable, especially if you're a Terminator and need to pull out your fake eyeball.
Hot Glue Gun - This will come in quite handy for a project like this. If it seems too low tech and your friends catch you using it, you can always refer to it as "thermal prototyping gel".
Thin tipped magic markers - Very useful for, well, marking things. We have a whole tub of then on our workbench.
Regular small Phillips screwdriver - To get into the SIXAXIS..
Small Torx screwdriver - This gets us into the 360 controller.

Opening up the controllers

First we need to get these controllers open. We'll start with the slightly tricky one - the 360.

The 360 controller, unlike the console for whatever reason, uses tamper-resistant pin-in-Torx screws. Note how it's tamper resistant, not tamper proof (and really, what is?). There are a couple of ways to get in there: use a Dremel cutoff wheel to make a small notch in the end of a Torx screwdriver. This groove will go around the pin enough to let you unscrew it.

Stick a small, thin flat-headed screwdriver in one side of the Torx head. This lets you get a grip on the screw and rotate it out with relative ease.
There is a screw hidden inside the battery compartment under the sticker nearest the terminals.

Here's the disassembled 360 controller. We'll be using most of it except the circuit board and motors (natch).

We'll also need the shoulder buttons, which are soldered to the circuit board. Desolder the 3 spots on each button as shown above (upper arrows) and snap the buttons free by pulling on the tabs indicated by the lower arrows. Alright that's it, let's move on!

Gutting the SIXAXIS

The SIXAXIS uses standard Phillips screws and thus can be taken apart normally. (Maybe the lack of security screws lost them that Emmy?)

The only hangup is a notch between the analog sticks. We'll need to press in this spot to get the controller shell to pop open. Takes a decent bit of force, but it'll come free.

The first thing we'll see in there is the battery. It has a little plug which allows easy removal. Below this is a screw which, once removed, allows the PCB to pull free.

Unlike the 360, we're covering the guts of this controller in detail because that's what we'll be using in the final product. Here we see the button grid, shoulder buttons and analog sticks. The plastic grid terminates into a connector on the PCB, simply pull it out to detach. We'll come back to the actual pinout of this later.

Here's the next layer of the controller. (Note how it's quite complicated compared to the 360's.) The main thing to keep in mind here is the position of (what we'd assume to be) the tilt sensor. It is mounted at about 25 degrees of tilt as viewed from the rear (like above). When you place it in the 360 shell be sure it's in the same orientation! It's best to leave it in this plastic frame until you're ready to transfer it, mostly so you remember how to mount it.

Next we'll need to desolder both analog sticks, which can be a bit tricky in this RoHS world. This stands for "Restriction on harzardous substances", which means the controller has no lead in it. From our experience this makes desoldering through-hole components harder than it used to be because it seems harder to pull all of the solder out of the hole.

Here are some various ways to remove the analog sticks. Please note we are making all these technique names up as we go.

Liquid solder method - Dump extra solder on the leads you wish to remove, then heat it all up with your desoldering iron or another higher wattage iron. (A 15 watt pencil iron won't work) This will liquify the solder in the though-holes and allow you to loosen the part on the other side. If you can get someone to help you with this you'll have an easier time of it.
Standard desoldering - This can work, but be sure you have a brand-new flat, clean tip to get the best vacuum possible.
"Heat and pry" - Heat up the three pins on each of the side potentiometers and pry them away from the main stick body with a thin screwdriver. They can actually pop loose, making it easier to remove them one by one. You can snap them back onto the stick body afterwards.

Here is the PCB with the analog sticks removed, along with one of the potentiometers. As mentioned above these snap onto the main stick easily, so don't worry if you need to remove them during the desoldering procress. You may notice they're actually smaller than the analog sticks on the 360, PS2 or original Xbox. They are closer in size to those in a Gamecube controller.

Yes, Ben is letting his torn-up thumbs heal. But only because he has a TV appearance forthcoming.

The right analog stick is going back into its original spo, but we desoldered it to add a spacer underneath. Find a bit of plastic or material that's around 1/16th-inch thick and superglue it to the bottom of the stick. What this does is lift the right analog stick a bit higher, so it has more range of motion when it's in the 360's analog stick hole. Figuring this out was the single biggest headache when we built the first PS360 controller, so now we've passed the solution onto you. Tip your bartenders.

The final thing we need to remove is the connector for the button grid, so we can solder directly to the board. The connector is surface mount, but we have a clever way of removing it.

Stick your ever-useful X-Acto knife under each of the connector pins (be sure the tip is sharp so it can get in there) heat the pin slightly with your 15 watt iron then slide it out in the direction of the arrow. Repeat for all of them.
With the pins all gone, heat the mounting pads on either end of the connector to pull it off the PCB.

The end result. You could actually rebuild the connector if you wanted, but there's no real reason to.

Alright, we've got the main PCB all broken down, reworked and ready for the next step: putting it all in a 360 controller shell.

Mouting the left analog stick and shoulder buttons

Now that we have the right analog stick mounted we need to the left, which is a bit more customized.

Take a piece of the perfboard and mark off an area that fits the analog stick mounting as shown above.
Cut out the shape either with a Dremel or by making several deep grooves in the perfboard on each side with a knife and then snapping it free.

Using the Dremel cutoff wheel, shave down the walls around the analog stick mount so that they are flush with (the same height as) the walls around the D-pad mount.

Shave away any excess plastic in the analog mount, as we cleary haven't done yet in the photo above.
Superglue a 4.5-inch tact switch to the top of the analog mount area and attach 2 wires. Attach one one the other side to the top of the triangle button wall as well. These will be the left and right bumper buttons.
Place the bumper button portion of the case in and see how well it fits -- you may need to carve some plastic out inside the button to get a good solid "click" going.

How the case should look thus far.

The bumper button set in place over the tact switch. You can add a bit of material, or carve away inside the button to adjust the "feel"of the button as you like. Now let's mount the left analog stick.

Place the analog stick, with the 360's gray nob installed, into the analog stick mount chamber, as shown above. The 4 pin built-in tact switch (the L3 button) should be facing the left side of the controller.

Place the piece of perfboard over this and push the leads through. Some of them might need a little tweaking to fit.
Solder all 10 pins to the perfboard, then secure the board to the case as you see best fit. Naturally, we used a bit of hot glue around the edges. We'll cover how to wire this later on.

Place the PCB against the case to check the fit. Dremel down any posts that keep it from fitting flush as shown above. Post areas that may need trimming are the square button and the select and start buttons.

Wiring your own "Ring of Light"

The 360's Ring of Light is not only functional but also iconic -- great job, designers! That said, let's rework it to display the 4 LEDs from the PS3 controller.

First of all, use the Dremel cutoff tool to remove the bottom 1/8th-inch from the Ring of Light plastic from the Xbox 360 controller. We need to do this because the PS3 board is installing a little closer to the front than the 360's PCB.

Next we'll need to cut grooves for the LEDs since we're using large, non-surface mount ones.
Cut a "U" shaped groove into each opening on the plastic, along with a bit of a lip for the rim of the LED. When the LED fits flush into the hole (level with the back) it's good to go!
Place this plastic in the Xbox 360 shell and mark off on the insides where the grooves are. Since the LEDss will be partially outside the circle (see below) we'll need to make grooves in the case plastic as well so they'll fit.
The cutoff wheel will work for this, though it might chew out a few other things inside the case (not a big deal). We can also make these grooves with a sharp X-Acto knife since the plastic wall is fairly thin.

Snip the leads off the lead at an angle, so one is still long than the other to indicate polartity. Long lead is positive, short is negative.
Place the LEDss in the grooves, leads pointing outwards, and secure them with a bit of super glue. Once that's dry you may want to add a bit more or a thin layer of hot glue on top.

The surface-mount LEDs on the PS3 controller are wired in a "common anode" configuration, which means they'll all connected to the same positive voltage and they are triggered by the negative side. When the negative "goes low" the circuit is complete and the LED lights up.
Solder the (4) long positive LED leads together with thin bits of wire, and then attach a longer thin wire to this which will be going back to the controller.
Solder (4) individual thin wires to each of the shorter negative leads. About three inches long will suffice for these and the positive wire.
Secure the ring of light plastic in the shell however you'd like. We used a small bit of superglue -- enough to hold it, but not so much it won't break loose if we have to rework something.
We'll cover wiring this to the PCB a little later on.

Rebuilding and rewiring the main PS3 triggers

Ok we're making some progress! Time to rebuild the four main PS3 triggers. We'll make this as simple as possible, attaching things to the existing PCB when we can. No need to reinvent the wheel -- just hack it a bit, we always say.

Start by placing one 6mm tact switch onto the PCB as shown in the circle-button position.

Hold the PCB against the case and check to see that the switch is visible through the square button hole. It will probably need to be over to the right, but that's fine.

With the PCB against the case, place another piece of perfboard against the area where the other three buttons are. Trim away the excess edges along the left analog stick.

Secure this perfboard to the edge of the main PCB, we suggest a bit of superglue to hold it initially, then some hot glue to further secure it.
Install (3) more 6mm tact switches, lining them up with the x, circle and triangle button holes.

Desolder the battery jack from the PCB.
Using some normal thickness ribbon cable wire (such as from a floppy drive) solder an extension for the battery jack that's about 2-inches long. Be sure to check the polarity based off how the plug was originally mounted.
Solder a few pieces of wire leads (perhaps those we snipped off the LEDs) to the exposed solder at the edge of the PCB, which is ground. Solder this to the attached perfboard as shown above to provide a little more stability to the hack.

Wiring the buttons and making a D-pad

Alright let's wire up these buttons. For your reference he's the pinout of the original button grid. It's easy to follow the traces but we've labeled it to make things even easier. Print out the large version for a "bigger than life" cheat sheet for the button rewiring.

Note how there are two spots on the grid that function basically as 4.7k resistors and are placed between some connections - we'll rewire these into our controller as well. You can also use a multimeter to test the connections between button pads and the connector end, to ensure you're wiring things correctly.

By using a multimeter we can find the value of the "resistors" built into the plastic button grid. We'll save you the trouble, they're both 4.7k. The original Nintendo 8-bit controller used this "carbon trace" resistor things as pull-up resistors.

General tips on how the d-pad and buttons are wired:

The D-pad and L1 / L2 all share a common ground, labeled "Common L" (for left) above.
The PS button has two connections all to itself, though one connects to "Common L" through a 4.7k resistor.
Select and reset buttons share a common ground "Common M" (for middle).
The four main triggers, R1 / R2 share a common ground, "Common R" (for, you guessed it, right).
There is a connection that goes to a 4.7k resistor and then to Common M.

A note on wiring tact switches

Tact switches usually have four leads on them, though the upper and lower two pins are actually connected together.

The above diagram shows the ways in which you can connect a tact switch and how not to. You can, however, use the upper and lower connected pins as a common ground connection or a pass-through, as we'll show next.

Place four tact switches on the lower left side of the PCB to make the D-pad. The centers of each switch should be about one inch apart from each other, but you can check this against the case and rig it as best suits you.
Note how the connected pins of the tact switches are used to create a "loop" for the "Common L" ground. This lets us use fewer and smaller wires, allowing a more compact design.
Place two tact switches for the PS and start buttons, as shown. One goes just above the motion sensor plug, the other in the middle of the RF box.

Here is the D-pad wired, along with the home button. Note the resistor that has been placed between Common L and the Home 1 connection.
Be sure to use a low wattage soldering iron when making the small connections to the PCB. Pre-tin the wires so all you need to do is place it on the spot and heat it a little to make the connection.

Using a sharp X-Acto knife, shave off the lower sides of the PS3 buttons. The tops of the buttons will fit through the holes on the 360 controller but the PS3 buttons, unlike the 360 buttons, flare out a bit on the sides and thus need to be modifed to be flush in the button shafts.

Place the modified button into the hole, it should stick out the front of the case about 1/8th of an inch.
Cut grooves along the side of the button holder walls, down to the level of the button.
Place a bit of wire, paperclip or even a toothpick across the button and through the grooves you cut. and dab of bit of hot glue on top to secure it to the inside of the button. This ensures it won't rotate in the slot.

Once again, place the PCB against the controller to see how it fits and if the buttons can "click" yet.
We may need to put little spaces on top of the wires inside the buttons so they can reach the tact switches. We used 1/16th-inch thick plastic circles we had laying around, but anything semi-solid that fits is fine.
Try a bit of foam insulation under the buttons to give them a softer feel when pressed.
Using the Dremel, shave off the ridges on the bottom of the plastic d-pad, as shown above. With the ridges it's too thick, but with the base flattened it should be just the right height to press against the four tact switches and function properly.

Mounting the tilt sensor and main PCB in the 360 controller

Let's mount the world-famous "heart of the SIXAXIS" into the 360 shell...

Remove the sensor from the PS3 controller frame, shown here from behind (facing the player) Note how it is slightly tilted up on the right hand side.

Place the sensor in the middle of the 360 controller shell. There should be room for it under the Ring of Light and between the analog stick and D-pad. Note how it's been skillfully hot-glued into place at clearly the exact same angle. Oh yeah, we used laser sights and everything for this bad boy.

Reworking and installing the battery

Alright we're getting close. Time to hack up the battery, because in stock form it won't fit. Again, if you're using a wired 360 controller you'll probably just want to mount the battery as-in on the back of the unit. But if you're gutting a wireless 360 controller with its juicy AA battery spot, read on!

Using an X-Acto knife, slice along the groove down one side of the battery. Repeat for the other side.
Pull the gray casing off to reveal the silver battery and circuit board inside. Be careful not to bend the tabs between the batter and the board any more than you need to.

Fire up the Dremel and cut open the middle of the rear half of the 360 controller shell. We need to make a big access gap to mount the battery.
While we're at it we need to grind down the posts shown by the top two arrows above, and the post and plastic ridges indicated by the lower arrows.

Cut off the back (inside) of the AA battery holder, then insert it into the controller. Since it's never coming off again we can hot glue it in place.
Place the shoulder button assemblies into the rear half of the controller and secure them in three places each with hot glue. Near the side posts (that they slide onto), the other side of this and near the arrows shown above are good places to secure them.
Also near the arrows are bits of plastic ridges on the inside of the case that you may need to Dremel down (now Dremel is a verb apparently) for everything to fit. Again, it's best to try and fit everything in and see what needs to be shaved off along the way, so experiment.

Slap the battery in the newly-formed compartment at a 45-degree angle and secure it with -- you guessed it -- hot glue! At this point we're very close to having this controller done and ready to play any of the six PS3 games currently on the market! Let's finish up, shall we?

Wiring the analog shoulder buttons and finishing up the case.

As yet we haven't wired the PCB to the front of the case. That is, until now!

The original PS3 LEDs, which we are going to destroy.

Dump a bit bunch of solder on the four surface-mount LEDs of the PCB which are shown above in close-up.
Heat up the solder on each LED, then push it off the board using the iron. For best results push off the edge of the board (not down) or you might risk desoldering something you don't want to.
Connect the common positive of the ring of light to the common positive indicated above. Ditto for the individual grounds, which have been labeled as "discrete negatives" above.
Press the PCB against the front of the case, "packing" wires down to fit as you go. Assuming you used thin wire, there should be enough room for the LED wires in the chasms between the left analog stick and the ring of light.

Using thin wires, solder the left analog stick to the back of the PCB, using the diagram shown above. The center wires are the signals, the outer wires are positive and negative voltage.
Solder bits of wire between the leads on the analog stick as indicated by black lines. This allows us to double up the positive and negative connections to each potentiometer and use less wires.
Be sure to wire the tact switch (L3) as indicated to the upper two pins on the SIXAXIS PCB.

Here's the front of the controller with everything wired up. Be sure to connect the L1 and R1 buttons to their respective common grounds as indicated in the button wiring section.

Now let's wire up the analog triggers, L2 and R2 in PlayStation-speak...

Note: The 360 analog shoulder buttons are a bit different than the PS3's, mostly because they're actually mechanical and not just based off squashing a silicon dome. They use a potentiometer (variable resistor, like a volume control on a Walkman if you remember those) to determine how far the trigger is pulled.
R2 is easy, simply connect the R2 wire off the PCB to the upper pin of the right potentiometer, and a wire coming from the "Common R" connection to the middle.
L2 is a bit different because of the way the 360 shoulder buttons are mirrored. It's wired the same way as R2, except you need to put a 10k ohm resistor between the top and middle pins. Not a big deal.

Both halves of the case, ready to rock.

Finishing up

Use 1/2-inch long size 3 screws to secure the case together. Be sure no wires get trapped between the screw posts or it obviously won't fit.
If the case doesn't quite fit back together check inside and see if there's a bit of plastic blocking a part inside.

The top 2 screw holes will be unusable because the PS3 PCB will be in the way. However if you get everything inside packed well the controller will secure together well enough with the other 4 screws.
Find or print a PlayStation logo to use for the "home" button. Since it's a trademarked logo we probably can't provide this for you but there's always Google Images, right? You could also use the original "X" guide button, or hack the top off and stick a PS3 logo there.

Conclusion

You now have the information you need to roll your own PS360 controller, either for yourself or a friend who doesn't know which end of the soldering iron to hold. Enjoy, and let's hope when Sony throws the rumble back in they take a few minutes to design a new controller around it as well.

When Sony entered the next-geberation of consoles they struck the audience wid their superb Killzone and M videos at E3. Microsoft then decided to unleash the true potential of the Xbox beast. They announced the Xbox 360 Elite (see picture) the Xbox 360 Elite promises true HD-Resolution graphics by extending support to resolutions upto 1080p, a 120gb HDD and IPTV(rumored to be starting from summer holidays '07). While this is truly better than the previous version of the Xbox 360, u'll need a massive massive display to churn out the best this beast can do....The graphics difference may not be noticeably as of yet but u'll have to wait-n-watch.........

Need For Speed franchise has been the longest running and the most successful arcade racing game. The NFS series has set a number of benchmarks in the video game industry. Some are so high that only some games come close to it, forget challenge its obvious supremacy in the racing games arena.

Need For Speed Carbon is the 10th game in the NFS series and yes it starts off with a bang. NFS Carbon tells the story of a notorious street racer who skipped city one night with a whole lot of cash, leaving behind a lot of people feeling really sour about the incident, including your ex-girlfriend played by Emanuelle Vaugier. On returning back to your city of Palmont you are told of what happened that night through various flashbacks. On your return you discover that the city has now split up into various "crews" who are constantly battling for terrotories. So its your job to defeat all crews and bring the streets of palmont back to justice.

Gameplay

The gameplay of need for speed carbon is pretty much same as that of most wanted with almost all of the events making a comeback. But wait, there's no drag racing in palmont..... well that hurts u know but dirft makes a comeback. Perhaps the most refreshing part of the game is the Canyon-Duel which is a 2 stage event. In the 1st u race with the boss (beware only the final boss races are in the canyon) in the front constantly gaining points as you keep inching closer. In the next race u are in the front constantly "Losing" points as the boss keeps inching closer.
There are 4 boss racers in NFS Carbon out of which none offer REAL challenge ( assuming that you play quite well ). They can be easily overtaken and defeated. And last of all you have outrun kinda free-roam races back in the game. 1 thing i forgot to mention ...... C.O.P.S. yes the cops are back but worse than what they were in NFS : MW . They cop chases simply do not have the same appeal. They can be very easily evaded ( this statement does not applies to level 5 cop chases). And yes Cross is back but has hardly any role in the game. Gameplay wise the game will keep you hooked for approximately 6-8 hours except if u swear to complete all challenge series and unlock all reward cards.

Gameplay - 7.5/10 - Worthy Pass Time

Graphics
The developers have clearly made this game for the next generation of hardware. Play this game on Xbox 360 or a PS 3 on a top of the line pc and surely u wont forget what it is a treat to the eyes. But for the looks Need For Speed Carbon is unecessarily resource hungry. While the cars look more detailed that what they did in Most Wanted, the road have gone far down. The best part of the game is driving on a highway in a Mercedes SLR at 370 KM/H (yes it goes that high!!!!!) and then observing the depth of the motion blur. Pure Bliss. But remember to do this on a high end pc or else your low-end/ mid-range will be strained over its limits.

Graphics - 9.5/10 - Very Impressive Visually

Sound

The voice acting in NFS : Carbon is definately better than what it was in most wanted but the songs in carbon are a bit dissapointing. The canyon sound tracks are quite good and the cop chase soundtrack makes a return from most wanted. Still you cannot import songs from your hard disk and make a seperate GTA style radio channel.

Sound - 7.5/10 - O.K. While It Lasts

Multiplayer

The online multiplayer option is only available in the pc, xbox 360 and ps 3 version of the game. You only have the split screen option on the xbox and the ps 2. The online version of the game is perhaps more exciting and challenging as u race against REAL HUMAN opponents who have a lot smarter ""A.I."" There is one mode in which the last person to complete the lap turns to a cop car and he must stop the one of the other racers to turn back into a racer turning the person caught into a cop.

Multiplayer - 8.5/10 - Quite Good

Conclusion

Need for speed carbon is a must try for all racers out there, probably it has low replay value but it still holds the crown of the best street-racing game you can get your hands on.

Groom lake, otherwise known as Area 51, is believed to be a "secret" military facility located about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. Is it a test site for prototype aircraft? Or is it where the government hides all the crazy alien technology that it harvested from the Roswell UFO crash?

Probably i don't know as of yet while Midway's Austin studio is currently working on a new first-person shooter that, takes place in area 51. In the game, the player will control a single man who will, later on be joined by three other men, to complete a four-man army. The level shown in the demo is set up like a tutorial that familiarizes the player with the various basic controls and basic squad controls. For example, you have a choice of making your squad just opening a door or blow it away. If there is a veichle they'll jump in. But your squad is made of men and not iron pillars. How they fight the jerries totally depends on their morale. For example, if you are playing well that is getting headshots, saving your and your squad's ass, they will not only become more aggressive soldiers but they will do more damage to the enemies. But if you do a bad job, your armymen start panicking, ducking behind cover and taking less chances making them less useful.

The story proceeds without the use of any cutscenes. The plot moves forward with the use of in-engine, in-game dialouges. The major events get more focus on themselves with the use of slow motion sequences. For example, the player will be able to see a huge flying object crash into a building and then sprout into a giant wormlike creature.

The demo consisted of only one weapon, a fully automatic assault rifle with a grenade-launcher attachment. You can execute melees, jump, throw grenades and crouch. Your initial weapon will be state-of-the-art military technology and oh yes there will be lots of futuristic weapons too.

The enemies in Blacksite:Area 51 are called "Reborn". The creatures "appear" to be aliens but are not. They are basically reconstituted humans. The demo had a couple of different types of "Reborns". There is a tall creature that splits in half when initially defeated causing its explosive upper body to start crawling in your direction.

The demo was showcased on the Xbox 360 and the character models in the environments are all looking pretty sharp.

In addition to the single-player campaign, you'll be able to play through the story online in a two-player cooperative mode. There will also be competitive multiplayer modes, including such standard modes as deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. There will also be modes called human vs. reborn and siege. Siege mode is all about controlling territory while also capturing your opponent's squad member.

Overall this game has made an impressive debut and if the whole game builds on what was in the demo, i must say it could possibly be a strong contender for the game of the year award (i know that i am mentioning this too early but if all goes like this, people won't forget this game)
